New Zealand House and Garden Tours
Subaru joined forces with New Zealand House and Garden Tours to help showcase New Zealand's home and lifestyle trends through a series of five events across the country in 2021.
As the official vehicle partner to New Zealand's largest charity house tours which are run in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, the House and Garden Tours staff will drive and display Subaru's latest vehicle line up to assist with the event-running logistics.
Subaru of New Zealand’s Marketing Manager Daile Stephens is excited to form this new partnership and believes it is an ideal way to introduce the lifestyle brand’s latest models.
“New Zealanders have a love affair with home ownership and DIY, as do our Subaru owners. New Zealand House & Garden Tours are a great way to get inspiration for home improvements, which are certainly on the rise, given that overseas travel isn’t an option at the moment,” she says.

Stephens continues, “Our new 2021 Subaru XV will be on public display at the New Zealand House & Garden Tours, we can’t think of a faster way to improve your street appeal with a stylish compact Subaru SUV parked out front!”
“We believe it is a brilliant opportunity to present our vehicles to the country’s discerning NZ House & Garden Tours attendees, as they explore some of New Zealand’s most beautiful homes early next year. On the tour, our Subarus will make their way through Auckland, Cambridge, and the Kapiti Coast in the North Island and down through Christchurch and Dunedin in the South Island which we know sell out every year,” Mrs Stephens says.
Subaru will be offering one lucky attendee the chance to upgrade their ticket to a VIP tour with two of their friends. A winner be chosen for each of the five locations and will receive a chauffeur-driven tour around the 8-10 homes that are on display, along with lunch and refreshments. The competition will be promoted via NZ House & Garden Tours Facebook page and all ticket holders will be emailed to encourage them to be in to win!
Mrs Stephens continues: “An important reason we chose to partner with the NZ House & Garden Tours was it offered Subaru the opportunity to support an extremely worthy cause. This year the tours are committed to donating $120,000 cash, as well as a $100,000 advertising campaign to the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ to promote the organisation’s Pink Ribbon Street Appeal and Pink Ribbon Breakfast initiatives. All proceeds raised will fund research in New Zealand and help local support services in each of the five house tour locations,” she says.

Each season five locations around the country are selected for the NZ House & Garden Tours to reflect the richness in local design flair and style. Between 8 to 10 houses are open to the tour-goers in each location, as they leisurely navigate their way through them on a self-driven tour.
The NZ House & Garden Tours have been inspiring people for the past 12 years and remain one of the biggest summer highlights for home and garden enthusiasts, who enjoy new experiences, and are looking for fresh ideas - all while supporting a good cause.
