Subaru of New Zealand held the inaugural Customer Lifecycle Services Conference last week, which saw the nationwide Authorised Subaru Centres’ Parts and Service Managers convene at Auckland’s Hampton Downs Motorsport Park.
The conference was an opportunity to reset and re-brand what is typically known as a Parts and Service Conference, to a Customer Lifecycle Services Conference, to set the Subaru network up for success in a changing market.
Attendees enjoyed practical experiences with the latest Subaru model line-up, both on-track and off-road. They put the Subarus through their paces, testing out their All-Wheel Drive capabilities and safety technology and the session also included some skid pan fun and EyeSight® testing.
They also took part in seminars that were intended to inspire the New Zealand team as they navigate through the transitioning landscape of the New Zealand automotive industry.
Robust workshops with fruitful discussion were held to ideate different approaches, with a focus on helping maintain the collaborative Kiwi culture that has been developed over the past decades in the Subaru dealer team.
The Growth Mindset Seminar inspired participants to explore opportunities in the New Zealand market given Subaru’s strength in new and used sales historically, which has resulted in a disproportionately large Subaru carpool.
Subaru of New Zealand’s Managing Director Wallis Dumper and Lifecycle Services Manager Philip Maltby acknowledged all the efforts of the dealers' present, over the years, with special mentions given to Southern Motor Group, Queenstown Motor Group and Armstrong’s Lower Hutt for their ongoing efforts.
Subaru New Zealand also acknowledged the outstanding performance of two Subaru Authorised Parts and Service Centres and presented them with awards. Sublab Whangarei owners Warren and Toni Hardy received the Sustained Success Award, recognising decades of excellence and performance; and Sean Cuthbert from Morrell Motors was presented with a Subaru Exceptional Service Award for excellence in customer experience.
Attendees rounded off the day with some team building and friendly competition on the Go Karts. They left the conference feeling excited about Subaru and the brand’s AWD capabilities and were equipped with fresh ideas and a renewed energy to tackle the future ahead.
