Subaru’s new blue, fire-breathing limited edition WRX TATSU is setting New Zealand showrooms alight.
The Subaru WRX TATSU will appeal to Subaru motorsport fans on account of its WR (World Rally) Blue colour scheme.
Priced at $59,990 RRP*, the WRX TATSU is the same price as Subaru’s standard WRX but with many hot, extra additions.
The year of the dragon has arrived with Subaru’s new blue, fire-breathing limited edition WRX TATSU setting New Zealand showrooms alight.
In the Japanese Kanji script, TATSU translates as 'dragon', and just like this mythical beast, Subaru’s limited edition WRX TATSU exudes power and prowess on the road. With its striking blue hue this exclusive model commands attention but also symbolises strength through its 2.4 litre turbocharged Boxer engine.
Only ten of these rare creatures will ever be created – five with Subaru Performance Transmission and five with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The WRX TATSU sits upon 18” STI black alloy wheels and looks appropriately fierce clad in a STI body kit (front, side, rear) and featuring a sports mesh grille, STI strut brace, STI gear shifter, STI push button start, STI drilled disc rotors (front only for manual) and black WRX and TATSU badging.

Subaru of New Zealand’s Managing Director Wallis Dumper says this WRX will especially appeal to Subaru motorsport fans on account of its WR (World Rally) Blue colour scheme.
“Subaru has had a long and successful rally championship history, both nationally and internationally via the Subaru World Rally Team. Perhaps the best-known Kiwi name synonymous with Subaru rallying was the late, great Possum Bourne. In 1996, the Subaru Rally Team Australia was born, with Possum as its driving force, and his incredible run of seven straight driver’s titles commenced.”
