Poised to make an impression on the New Zealand car industry, the 2021 Subaru XV models enter the market with a dash more style and a splash more substance.
The brand’s sporty, fun compact SUV’s cosmetic spruce-up sees it well-heeled in new design alloy wheels (17” Subaru XV/e-Boxer Hybrid, and 18” XV Premium) and sporting a smart new front bumper. The fog light shape and front grille have also had a refreshing re-design.
Renowned for its bold colour options, the Subaru XV’s stunning new hue Plasma Yellow Pearl is bound to make a statement.
Subaru of New Zealand Managing Director Wallis Dumper says: “The Subaru XV has established a reputation for itself as the active-owner-attracting, stylish SUV since it joined the Subaru line up in 2012. XV’s drivers tend to love getting outdoors and along with this model’s striking road presence, they enjoy the peace of mind that our Subaru safety features provide.”
“The XV has been popular for Subaru since its arrival and has tripled in sales since the second generation launched in 2017. We anticipate the 2021 upgrades will continue to appeal to those compact SUV drivers who value the benefits of Subaru’s sure-footed Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and the power provided by our Boxer engine, along with the technological and cosmetic enhancements.”
“Kiwis are fortunate that whilst many are possibly frustrated that they can’t travel overseas, they still have our beautiful country to enjoying spending time in. Their savings on international air travel mean they can treat themselves to a new Subaru XV to seriously boost their kerb appeal this year!”
“Given that one third of New Zealand’s roads are unsealed, our All-Wheel Drive Subarus continue to be the ideal vehicles to travel our country in,” Mr Dumper says.
While the three models – Subaru XV, XV Premium, and XV e-Boxer Hybrid – retain their quintessential Subaru qualities, such as, EyeSight® our clever crash avoidance technology with eight features, legendary All-Wheel Drive and 2.0-litre Boxer engine, they are gaining SI Drive (Subaru Intelligent Drive).
SI Drive is an advanced engine management system with driver-selectable modes tailored to suit different conditions and moods. It is the perfect solution for those who crave both a sporty response and economic fuel consumption and takes the Subaru XV’s performance to an all-new level.
Another feature new to all models is the auto door lock function. This feature automatically locks the front and rear doors once the Subaru XV begins moving. Once the SUV stops and is placed in park, the doors auto unlock again.
The Subaru XV’s mid-life updates ensure this model continues to step out with cutting edge design and its drivers will turn up in style for their favourite walk, at their yoga studio, or outside the cinema.
