Subaru’s compact Impreza has undergone a cosmetic overhaul, with the 2020 model sporting a redesigned front bumper and grille, plus smart new-design 17” alloy wheels.
The Subaru family’s entry model will continue to deliver the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive engineering prowess that New Zealand-new Subarus are famous for.
The appearance of the most fuel-efficient Subaru isn’t the only change, with the new 2020 Impreza also featuring Subaru Intelligent Drive (SI Drive). SI Drive is designed to regulate the key engine functions to offer distinctive driving modes. Intelligent (I) mode is for everyday driving, perfect for suburban and city conditions and optimising fuel economy. Sport (S) mode is for enhanced acceleration and all-round sporty performance, along with highway driving and long-distance cruising for consistent power delivery.
Despite all its enhancements, the Impreza is now more accessible than ever and continues to be excellent value for money. It offers a powerful, direct injection 2.0 litre Boxer engine, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Subaru’s eight-feature crash avoidance EyeSight technology - all for just $31,490. The Kiwi adventure brand’s recent partnership with Heartland Bank, through the Subaru Accelerator Programme, means that New Zealanders can now own and drive an Impreza for as little as $70 per week.
Subaru of New Zealand’s Managing Director Wallis Dumper says: “Kiwis are looking for different ways to purchase, to suit their lifestyle. Our recent partnership with Heartland Bank not only gives customers flexibility through our Accelerator Programme, which is how we have branded the Guaranteed Future Value finance model, it also enables them to own a New Zealand-new Subaru faster than they may have thought possible in the past. I mean, why buy an import with an unknown history, when you can get into a brand-new Subaru for as little as $70 per week?”
The Impreza isn’t just packed with plenty of benefits for its price, it is engineered for safety and gives you confidence when getting out and doing more of the things you love.
“We believe the Impreza has evolved to be the best value ‘small’ car for Kiwis and has held that status for decades. With its roomy interior, two-litre Boxer engine, coupled with our sure-footed All-Wheel Drive - that delivers power from the wheels that slip to the wheels that grip - it enables people who truly want to drive New Zealand in safety, to enjoy a car that’s as comfortable crossing slippery intersections on rainy days as it is cruising to an adventure destination on open roads. Whether those roads are gravel, tarseal or bitumen covered in snow, the Impreza is designed to handle them all,” Mr Dumper continues.
“There is a lot of competition in the small car class, but you need to be looking at vehicles feature-to-feature, spec-to-spec to discover that Impreza is in a truly best value position, and the new Subaru Accelerator Programme now enables ownership for many more people to enjoy,” Mr Dumper concludes.
With an 8-inch touch screen for infotainment, Bluetooth® handsfree connectivity and Apple CarPlay™ & Android Auto™ functionality, the Impreza also has all the technology you need to keep you connected, no matter where you are going.
Built on the Subaru Global Platform, the 2020 Impreza sets the benchmark for performance, luxury and convenience - all neatly packaged up in a small class car.
The 2020 Subaru Impreza will be on display at Subaru’s upcoming summer events, including the Leadfoot Festival this Waitangi Weekend, and the Round the Bays fun run on March 8th. The new 2020 Impreza is also available at Authorised Subaru Centres for customers to test drive.
