It is the season for awards at Subaru New Zealand, with two more accolades announced this week.
The recently-named 2018 New Zealand Car of the Year, the Subaru Forester SUV continues its stunning run of success, with NZ4WD Magazine awarding it the Medium 4WD SUV of the Year 2018 yesterday.
In a market where many pretender 2WD SUVs simply can’t get Kiwis off-road to where they need to go, the Forester’s confidence-inspiring 220mm of ground clearance means it is the real deal for adventures in New Zealand’s back country.
This latest award caps off an impressive trophy haul of four accolades for the Forester, which has gone from strength to strength since its launch in August. Only two months after this packed with safety and technology, family-friendly SUV landed in dealerships, it won the 2018 Stuff Motoring Top Medium SUV.
Then on Wednesday night, the Forester was named the AA Driven New Zealand Car of the Year Awards Best in Class Medium SUV.
Subaru’s XV has also had its share of the limelight following its new generation launch last year and was named the New Zealand Company Vehicle Compact SUV of the Year 2018 this week.
The magazine’s judging panel required the category winners to epitomise business transportation, which means the XV had a lot of boxes to tick in terms of safety, fit-for-purpose application, value as a business asset and total cost of vehicle ownership. To earn this award, the XV also had to satisfy the requirements of the modern-day fleet user, meaning that the car must carry out its nine-to-five roles from Monday to Friday but also be able to deliver down-time driving considerations.
Like all New Zealand new Subarus, the XV is All-Wheel Drive, which allows it to deliver a rewarding, safe driving experience in both a professional and recreational sense in all weather and road conditions.
