There's even more to love about the Subaru Forester

The 2022 Subaru Forester

Forester Design

Stand out in the middle of nowhere.

With looks to thrill, the Subaru Forester SUV is designed to turn heads in the city, while navigating the rugged demands of our wild backcountry.

The Subaru Forester's Driver Monitoring System (DMS) uses facial recognition to prevent distracted driving and also automatically set preferences for up to five users.

Forester Technology

Driver Monitoring System (DMS)
Our Driver Monitoring System is available on the Forester and provides added safety and convenience with two different packages.

DMS - Safety Package
The Driver Monitoring Safety Package uses facial recognition technology to monitor the driver to detect distraction, wondering eyes and drowsiness. If it detects any of these is warns both the driver and passengers through a visual and audio alert.

DMS - Personalisation Package
The Driver Monitoring System can also personalise your ride by storing driver profiles and personal preferences such as the drivers preferred door mirror angle, multi-function display settings, air conditioning settings, seat position and other instrument cluster displays. As soon as you jump in the drivers seat the DMS recognises saved drivers and automatically adjusts to their settings.

EyeSight® Clever Crash Avoidance Technology
In EyeSight® is a second pair of eyes that monitor the road ahead and recognise potentially dangerous driving situations. Using three dimensional images captured by cameras mounted at the top of the windscreen, providing audible and visual warnings to prompt the driver to take action. EyeSight® will also apply automatic braking intervention, when necessary, to help avoid or reduce the severity of a detected frontal collision.  Find out more.

Forester Performance

Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive

The sign of a true performer, is good balance. And when it comes to driving a Subaru, superior balance equals superior vehicle control. That’s why Subaru has built its reputation on its Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a symmetrical drivetrain that delivers an innate sense of balance from the ground up. AWD delivers engine power to all four wheels simultaneously. Having power distributed across all four wheels, rather than two on conventional vehicles, giving you twice the grip capacity. Boxer Engine

The Boxer engine is designed to sit lower and flatter in the engine bay, than traditional engines. Due to this unique horizontally-opposed configuration the engine delivers less noise and vibration to the cabin, while the lowered centre of gravity improves stability, cornering and traction with the road. Find out more.

X-MODE

X-Mode hill descent control is a standard feature on the Subaru Forester, which helps to reduce potential wheel slip on slippery surfaces or steep inclines when navigating off road situations, and the Forester X Sport, Premium Hybrid Premium variants feature the deep snow and deep mud functionality. Find out more.
